Episode 3
Former police officer Neil plays a tense waiting game after tracking a Toyota Hilux stolen from outside Aston Villa’s football ground on match day.
Thieves are always on the lookout for opportunities, such as large sporting events. When an Aston Villa football fan returns to his car after the game, he’s shocked to discover it’s been stolen. The Toyota Hilux is fitted with a theft-recovery tracking device, so he alerts the tracking company, and former police officer Neil is quickly on the case. Neil hunts the car down and then decides to play a tense waiting game, just in case the thieves return.
Cars aren’t the only mode of transport being targeted by criminals. Around 77,000 bicycles are reported stolen every year, with London a bike-theft hotspot. But, just like cars, many bikes are fitted with tiny GPS trackers. Bike recovery specialist Bilal uses tracking technology to trace a stolen cargo bike to a back garden – but has to take drastic action to retrieve it!
Meanwhile, tracker Richard is searching for two stolen diggers worth tens of thousands of pounds. They were stolen from a site in Birmingham – but Richard suspects they’re now hidden inside an industrial unit in South Wales.
