Episode 6
Tracker Neil hunts down a stolen Toyota Hilux hidden on a remote industrial estate. But before he can seize it, he’s confronted by a man claiming he bought it at an auction.
Tracker Neil is alerted when a Toyota Hilux is stolen. As the thieves make their getaway, they attempt to block the signal from the car’s tracking device. At first, they’re successful – but Neil quickly picks up the signal and traces the stolen vehicle to a remote industrial estate in Essex. He searches the area on foot and finds it, hidden away near the back of the estate.
Neil’s just about to seize the car when he’s challenged by a man who claims he bought it at an auction. It’s a tense moment - Neil doesn’t believe his story, especially when the man admits he hasn’t got a key for the vehicle. Police back-up is just minutes away...
Plus a look at the impact of car crime on families. There were more than 7,500 vehicle thefts in the West Midlands in 2024, making it one of the UK’s hardest-hit areas. We hear how, in West Bromwich, a father was threatened at gunpoint and his 13-year-old daughter left terrified when criminals broke into their home looking for the keys to their BMW.
Meanwhile, tracker Richard heads to the south west of England in search of machinery stolen from a construction site. He ends up deep in the Devon countryside where picking up a signal from the tracker proves difficult. But eventually, after a two-day search, Richard finds the stolen machinery in a field behind a church in Bideford.
