Episode 16

A motorist is reunited with his car after it was stolen outside his home. But it’s fitted with a tracker, and recovery agent Joe finds the vehicle just two hours after it was taken.

There has been a spate of high-value thefts from construction sites. Tracker Richard is hoping to find two stolen diggers in two different parts of the country - in a single day. He quickly finds the first one abandoned in a water treatment plant near Stafford. The second is more difficult to find – it’s been driven through a hedge and is half-buried in woods just outside Manchester. But will Richard find it, and get it out of there, before night falls?

Superintendent Andy Huddlestone is head of a specialist police unit. He tells the programme the people behind plant machinery thefts are often well-established criminal gangs who know what they’re looking for.

Motoring enthusiast Richard has his BMW stolen from outside his flat in Solihull. But it’s fitted with a tracker, and recovery specialist Joe is quickly on the case. He traces the vehicle to a car park just two miles from where it was stolen. The thieves dumped it there to let it 'cool off' – but this time, they're out of luck, and Richard is reunited with his car.
