Tonight's Classical Mixtape opens with the tender rustle of Amy Beach's Young Birches, played by Joanne Polk. Voces8 performs Ola Gjeilo's haunting beautiful Ubi caritas. Violinist Elena Urioste plays Mel Bonis' Violin Sonata, followed by Dvorak's beloved Serenade for Strings in E major. As the night grows darker, we hear the evening song, or Abendlied, by Rheinberger followed by Stenhammar's Serenade in F major. Tonight's Classical Mixtape concludes with lutenist Hopkinson Smith playing the Prelude to JS Bach's Partita No.3 in E major.
