Haleve Nicht Special!

A spooky selection of tales ahead of Halowe’en!

“Horrible” Helen Mark present a seasonal edition of ѿý Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show alongside “Rotten” Rab Lennox, Jonnie ‘The Jinx’ Crawford and “Wicked” Willie Hill.
Jonnie gets a viewing of and hears the terrifying story behind “The Witch of Glentow” – a new Ulster-Scots themed short film. Helen unveils a Blue Plaque to Ciara Riddell – a relatively unknown (until now!) Victorian writer known as ‘The Queen of Ghost Stories’. Rab spends an evening hearing spooky stories from a new ladies group near Magherafelt. There’s also news of some H’ween themed Ulster-Scots programming returning to the iPlayer and a very special reading of an excerpt of “Stumpie’s Brae”.
Listen…if you dare!
Meanwhile, Jonnie speaks to Lydia Todd – in-between her picking up awards as a champion drum major! Also - Rachel catches up with some kids in Kilkeel enjoying an Ulster-Scots themed summer scheme.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
