Songs of the Sea live from Wigmore Hall

Baritone James Newby & pianist Joseph Middleton live from Wigmore Hall, plus highlights from this summer's Glenarm Festival of Voice in Northern Ireland and early music from London

Linton Stephens introduces an afternoon of specially recorded music including highlights from this summer's Glenarm Festival of Voice in Northern Ireland, featuring Radio 3 New Generation Artist, tenor Santiago Sanchez and mezzo-soprano Carolyn Dobbin.

Also this week Linton features concerto recordings from the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra. Today, the orchestra is joined by R3 New Generation flautist Elizaveta Ivanova for a performances of the flute concerto by Jacques Ibert.

But we begin the week with a live concert from Wigmore Hall. Baritone James Newby and pianist Joseph Middleton perform a programme inspired by the sea, including songs by Schubert, Elgar, Rachmaninov, Finzi and Weill, among others.
