In Manchester, Caroline Hawley visits an Aladdin’s cave of fabric swatches dating back to the late 1700s. The Print Pattern Archive Studio has more than 50,000 pieces of material and wallpaper spanning entire eras in fashion and design. Caroline meets the archive’s owner Cheryl O’Meara, who was gifted this incredible collection by New York textile curator Marlene Goldstein.

Over in Oswestry, two teams of best friends try to fashion a profit. Each pair have £300 in their pockets. On the red team are Amie and Katie, who have an eye for anything bold and quirky - but definitely not scary! Their opponents are Miles and Peter, who met in the sixth form 15 years ago.
