Queen - A Night at the Opera
It's probably Queen's strongest album, but is A Night at the Opera actually any good?
In a long career, it could be argued that Queen only truly made two perfect albums - Greatest Hits and Greatest Hits II...
Rock royalty they may be, Queen's real stomping ground was the singles charts, as they unleashed a steady stream of absolute classics from their 1973 debut, Keep Yourself Alive, to their final single with Freddie Mercury, You Don't Fool Me.
But even the most ardent of Queen fans would have to concede that their albums can be...pretty patchy. Except for, we are told, A Night at the Opera, their 1975 magnum opus.
But just how well does it stand up? Does it deserve the legendary status conferred upon it? Or are you better just sticking to those greatest hits albums?
