Pint-Sized Profits

Episode 9 of 20

From tabletop games to mid-century gems, Phil Serrell and Tahmina Ghaffar stir things up in Oxfordshire. But will their buys earn a celebratory pint or leave them flat at auction?

It’s round four in the antiques face-off, and auctioneers Phil Serrell and Tahmina Ghaffar are powering into Oxfordshire in their trusty, and thunderously loud, 1959 Ford Popular. With the competition heating up, the pair are on the hunt for treasures that could turn heads at auction.

Phil gets nostalgic with a tabletop game that brings back memories of his youth, though he’s never too old to bend the rules to win. Tahmina takes a bold gamble on a large piece of mid-century furniture and an intriguing item designed to help the visually impaired, hoping both will guide the way to a profit.

Taking a break from the shops, our thirsty duo dive into Britain’s rich brewing heritage. Phil gets fired up over a Victorian steam engine, while Tahmina meets the brewery’s gentle giants – doughty shire horses – still delivering the goods with horsepower of a different kind.

With their finds loaded and auction day looming, who will be toasting success, and who might be left nursing a flat result?
