Episode 6
The celebrities take on the pairs challenge. They will need to deliver two identical desserts, but they will be working on separate benches, and only one of them has access to the recipe.
It’s the second quarter-final, and the four best celebrity cooks from the week go all out to prove they are skilled enough to nab a place in the semi-finals. Two tough tasks will determine who is no longer up to the challenge, leaving the rest to forge on towards culinary stardom.
We’ve seen these celebrities cook solo – now it’s time for some teamwork as they take on the pairs challenge. Each team of two has their own recipe and must deliver two identical portions of that dish, but they will be working on separate benches, and only one of them will have access to the recipe. The recipes in this round are both desserts, a bakewell tart and a millefeuille. Given how technical and precise dessert making is, the celebrities' communication will have to be on point. Will the dishes bear any resemblance to the classics we know and love? One hour to deliver, or maybe destroy, a classic.
If they think that was tough, judges Grace and John have one more challenge up their culinary sleeves. The celebs will need be cook their most splendid two-course menu for three super-special, and super-hungry, diners: Celebrity MasterChef 2024 Champion Vito Coppola and former finalists Rochenda Sandall and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. They will be praying for some good food, and the celebs will be hoping for some leniency, should things not go as planned. A place in the semi-finals is at stake, so nerves will definitely be on the day's menu.
The judges will then mull things over and decide which celebs have come up trumps, leaving the one lagging behind to say their goodbyes. Things are about to get serious as the race for this year’s title continues.
