Set Jetting

Talking Movies dives into 'set jetting' - film inspired travel. Featuring Bond tours in London, Salzburg's The Sound of Music fans, and the impact of Oscar-winning Anora on New York's Brighton Beach.

One of the fastest growing sectors in tourism, both in the UK and globally, is being driven by people visiting locations that have been featured in films. In a special edition Talking Movies investigates the booming film tourism business also known as 'set jetting'.

In London, Tom Brook joins a James Bond walking tour visiting key locations used in 007 films and talks to people helping to attract visitors through the capital's cinematic history.

In Austria, the 1965 classic The Sound of Music brings in an estimated 300,000 visitors each year. Tom joins a group of fans who burst into spontaneous renditions of the musical's beloved songs as they travel through Salzburg's streets.

The Oscar-winning picture Anora set in and around Brighton Beach in New York has resulted in a whole new wave of tourists visiting this Russian speaking community. We see some key locations used in the movie and hear from the picture's celebrated director Sean Baker on why he wanted to shoot there.

And Tom visits the French town of Dinard which capitalises on movie tourism through its annual film festival in Northern France.
