The fall of autumn leaves creates a blanket on the ground and provides a rich habitat for creepy-crawlies. Predatory millipedes crawl through the leaf litter hunting for prey, while wood crickets feed on the leaves and dead animals. Most of the leaf litter creatures die in their first winter. Only a few will survive until spring.
