Even from some distance, the sound of kittiwakes can be heard from Kittiwake Gully - a natural echo chamber. Kittiwakes are gulls, but they give gulls a good name. Many gulls have a belligerent nature, but kittiwakes are like the doves of the gull world, with gentle faces and dark eyes. They build lovely, neat nests stuck to the side of the cliff which are inaccessible, and therefore safe from predators.
