Bill Oddie has always wanted to see a Scilly shrew, so he heads off on a shrew trapping expedition with some island locals. The shrews are being trapped for study. The first traps checked are empty and another reveals three mice, but finally he team finds one with a shrew in it. The tiny creatures is released into a cage so Bill and the team can observe it. These shrews don't occur on mainland Britain, only on Scilly and the Channel Islands. Bill tells how when the shrews have to make a new nest site they travel in caravan style, nose to tail behind the mother.
