Only a mile or two inland from the coast, and Bill Oddie is in 'proper Scotland' - moorland and mountain country. It is rugged and very quiet. He hears a lapwing calling, but there aren't many birds up here. However, the ones that are here are a little bit special. Twite are little brown birds and quite sweet. There is a family with chicks not long out of the nest and still being fed by the parents. They are also known as mountain linnets, and are a Scottish speciality. The other bird that Bill expects to see round here is the golden plover - a relative of the lapwing. It has lovely gold-edged feathers on its back.
