Squirrels are gathering up leaves instead of burying nuts, because what they鈥檒l be doing is building their winter quarters, a nice winter drey which is bigger and even cosier. On those bleak wintry days they鈥檒l be nice and warm. Of course grey squirrels don鈥檛 hibernate, they just don鈥檛 get out so much, that鈥檚 all. Very sensible.
