Ninety years of the Oxford Rural Community Council

Phil looks at the work of the Oxford Rural Community Council (ORCC) on its 90th birthday, and welcomes its Chief Executive Linda Watson, into the studio.

Oxfordshire is the most rural of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Counties and Phil will be looking at the work of the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council (ORCC) now that it is 90 years old. Are things better now then they’ve ever been? Linda Watson, Chief Executive of the Council, joins him in the studio.

Philip Burns, a steward at Didcot Methodist Church and member of its Green Team, came in to tell us about the Eco-congregation Award won by the Church. The independently-assessed award is for environmental activity in practical, community and spiritual areas.

Our devotional this morning was by Rev. Kathryn Bracewell from the New Road Baptist Church, and reflection by Rev. John Rowlands, Methodist Minister in Kennington.

Our Sunday paper reviewer was David Cranston, Oxford-based consultant urologist.
