One half of a partnership - leaf cutter ants luxuriate in a never-ending supply of leaves. The ants don't eat the leaves they cut. They take them back to the colony, where they're ground into a mulch and fed to a fungus. Then the ants eat the fungus. It's a cultivated crop needing constant supplies of greenery.
