                        Poet Philip Larkin's musical favourites
Late night big band, jazz and irresistible sounds, including the musical favourites of poet Philip Larkin, who died 25 years ago.
A note from Paul...
Poet Philip Larkin, who died 25 years ago was a jazz fan. “I can live a week without poetry but not a day without jazz,” he wrote, and the daily fix that kept him alive was the sound of Duke Ellington, Bix Beiderbecke, Eddie Condon, Fats Waller, Muggsy Spanier, Billie Holiday, Count Basie and many other legendary performers.
Listen to Larkin’s Jazz, and hear what he had to say about it, this Saturday with the Late Paul Barnes.
