Simon King examines a lioness's decision-making processes as she tries to kill two wildebeest and assesses the survival prospects of abandoned teenage cheetah, Duma.
Duma, the teenage cheetah, having never made a kill without her Mum, is now going it alone. Every year 1.3 million wildebeest leave their southern homes in Tanzania's Serengeti to trek 200 kms north to the Masai Mara in Kenya. The full force of the wildebeest migration is now in leopard Bella's territory.The lionesses of the Talek pride have food aplenty.
