Aftermath of the Clydebank Blitz
The aftermath on the town shows the effect of the bombing and the displacement of the population. There was little newsreel footage and no coverage of the mass grave. Censorship meant that the headlines in the newspapers reflected only small, isolated incidents. The whole disaster was effectively ‘hushed up’.
