A voice from Vukovar stilled - but not forgotten

Croatia's membership of the European Union is expected to be approved in the coming days. It's now almost exactly two decades since Croatia broke away from the disintegrating state of Yugoslavia. More than 100,000 people would die in the war that engulfed the region in the years afterwards.

Allan Little reported on the conflict, and still remembers one particular voice that he tuned into during one of its darkest episodes. But is anyone still listening to its message?

True grit amid scorched fields

Parts of the United States are in the grip of a serious drought. Kansas, Colorado and Oklahoma are all suffering. But it's in the fields of Texas where there's most concern. The winter was the state's driest since records began. The wheat harvest's likely to be well down, and ranchers are struggling to feed their cattle.

But they're famously tough in Texas; Jonny Dymond has been spending time with a farmer who's taking the long view as he waits for rain.
