Acknowledged as the most influential and successful bluegrass band of the last twenty years, Union Station comprises bassist Barry Bales, banjo player Ron Block, guitarist and vocalist Dan Tyminski , dobro player Jerry Douglas and Alison Krauss on vocals and fiddle.
Individually and collectively the members of Union station have all played a pivotal role in the bluegrass revival which began in the early 2000s. Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski both contributed to the award winning soundtrack O Brother Where Art Thou (where Dan was the singing voice of George Clooney), Ron Block is a leading writer of bluegrass and gospel songs, Barry is an award winning musician and record producer and Jerry Douglas is widely regarded as the world's best dobro player. With the band and as a solo artist Alison Krauss holds the record for the most Grammy awards for any female artist in musical history - 26 in total.

In a session recorded for the programme at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Maida Vale studios, the band play songs from their current album 'Paper Airplane'.
