A selection of the best in jazz music.
From a new Alan Barnes CD with guitarist Martin Taylor through duos from the eighties, Ron Carter and Jim Hall plus another from the mid seventies, Herb Ellis and Joe Pass. Still with duos, Slide by Slide is a band consisting of two trombone players, Kevin Grenfell and Richard Leach and they feature with a jazz standard. Jacques Loussier has taken the work of another composer, Schumann, and applied his jazz keyboard skills to the music. There’s a sample of Canadian singer Alex Pangman who has returned to singing after a lung transplant. The Chris Barber band play a Dr John tune and trombonist Dennis Rollins points us in the direction of an imminent date which he feels is the start of something completely new.
