A selection of the best in jazz music.
The Zenith Hot Stompers have been on the jazz scene for 48 years and they’ve travelled all over the world. But their base has been the Midlands and they’ll be giving their final performance at the Stafford Jazz Society on Sunday December 11th. We shall find out why the band is finishing and what next for the musicians. The Bryan Jones Big Band will be playing in Crewe for a Christmas bash and there’s music from them. While we try and feature the best of jazz from all over the world, this week there’s a good collection of musicians that you can hear on your doorstep including Paul Sawtell, Amy Roberts, Roy Sainsbury and the Old Fashioned Love Band. As it was Dave Brubeck’s 91st birthday on December 6th, we felt we should play something of his. It’s a recording made when he was just a mere 32! How time flies.
