Jim McShee live in session

Rob Adcock presents the show for new and unsigned bands from Staffordshire and Cheshire. Jim McShee is live in session, and we're also celebrating the career of local music mogul Mark Askew.

This week we had the bluegrass-infused country sounds of Jim McShee in session, performing two of his own songs and a haunting cover of Katy Perry’s ’The One That Got Away’.

As always, we showcased the plethora of talent based in Cheshire and Stafford with tracks from Stoke veterans The Rivalry, Camp Stag and everyone’s favourite dub n’ bass act Wolf Shizzle.

Sunday, 29th January 2012, marks the 70th anniversary of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4 classic show Desert Island Discs, so we put the inaugural question to the Introducing team and people of Stoke: if you were stranded on an island with only one album to listen to, what would it be? Answers ranged from Grace Jones to Death Cab for Cutie. All classics in our eyes.

We ended the show with a fond farewell to long-serving local promoter Mark Askew, thanking him for his tireless work with bands from the area. We wish him the best of luck in the future.
