Argylls battle at Slim River

By the 7th of January 1942 the Japanese reached Slim River just 450 kms from Singapore. Here they launched a heavy attack on the British Empire forces. A tank column broke through the defending Indian troops and the Argyll’s were the last line of defence.

At battle’s end there were less than 100 Argylls who hadn’t been killed or captured.
