A woman in her 70's has been fined for dropping litter, after a thread from her gloves fell on the floor while she was out shopping.

Valerie George wasn't aware of what had happened until a council warden issued her with an on the spot fine of £75.

The local authority in Wales insists that an offence had been committed, but said Mrs George no longer has to pay the penalty.
