   Mrs Clegg smartens Compo up so that he can apply for a job at the Co-op.

   Foggy's rifle still hasn't arrived and he's not prepared to fight a war with a wooden one.

   The staff suspect their manager of being a snuff taker and try to find his hiding place.

   May 1939: Foggy prepares himself mentally and physically for the outbreak of war.

   Seymour tries to attract Deborah Norbury but her mum proves to be quite an obstacle.
