Arresting the Mistress

DCI Gates' mistress, Jackie Laverty, persuaded him to cover up a minor traffic offence. Only later does Gates discover that Jackie committed a fatal hit-and-run. But he's under her spell, and he seems to have been successful in covering up her crime. Under investigation by AC-12, an anti-corruption unit, Gates' every case is under the microscope. When DS Steve Arnott learns about Jackie's criminal activities, the net starts to close in on Gates. Does Gates finally see through Jackie, and do what is right?
