We spoke to Sam Hoare who plays Dickie and writer Janie Hampton about their work on the new drama Bert and Dickie which looks at rowing at the last London Olympics in 1948.

Sam stars alongside Doctor Who actor Matt Smith in the drama which tells the tale of how Bert Bushnell and Dickie Burnell defied all the odds, and achieved gold in the double sculls.

Janie who wrote a book called 'The Austerity Olympics' acted as a historical consultant on the drama and tells us that rationing was worse after the war which made their success even more remarkable.
