The terror experienced by ordinary people living in Nazi Germany
A personal account by an American woman, Norah Waln, living in Germany during the 1930s. She clearly explains the striking difference between how events in Germany were portrayed by its own newspapers and by the international press. She also explains how, on the surface, Nazi Germany seemed a very pleasant place to live – less crime, polite youth - but underneath, there simmered a very real terror.
