How the persecution of Jews became law in Germany
The persecution of Jews became law in Germany. Elsbeth Rosenfeld tells of how her mother was disowned by her family when she married a Jew. She explains the thinking behind this hatred was dressed up as science but was actually fantasy. She recalls a Jewish friend who was blond-haired and liked to use the fact he looked Aryan to make fools out of the Nazis – he was eventually arrested. Elsbeth raises an interesting question as to what she is – not German and not Jewish.
