How cotton farmers suffered before and during the Depression
Moses Austin, an American cotton sharecropper, describes the life and hard times for farmers and farm workers before the Wall Street Crash and during the Depression. Farmers had suffered many years before the crash; they either had too little or too much cotton and sometimes pests damaged the crops.
