Using GIS to target vehicle crime in Swansea
One of the biggest problems in Swansea is vehicle crime. Vehicles are often stolen and later found burnt out. The police work with the fire brigade to map the crimes using GIS. Once hotspots are identified, action can be taken. An example is shown where boulders were strategically placed around a green space to prevent cars being driven onto it.
