Coastal landforms - West Wales

The coastline of West Wales is under constant attack from the prevailing winds travelling over the Atlantic Ocean. Headlands and bays usually form where hard and soft rocks lie, but this coastline is made up entirely of carboniferous limestone. It is the weaknesses and faults of the limestone which determine the landscape. Sea arches, stacks, stumps and caves can all be found along this stretch of coastline.
