After the Ice Age - Kelling Heath, Norfolk
Glaciation affected lowland areas through glacial meltwater depositing drift. The drift consisted of boulder clay and outwash. Boulder clay makes great agricultural land but outwash is difficult to farm and is often left as heathland. Norfolk has both types of drift and it still affects how the land is used today. Geologists can sometimes work out how the ice behaved by looking at rock and soil types.
