Travelling on a canal
Travelling to Lisburn in Northern Ireland by canal. Lisburn is built on the River Lagan and an old canal. It used to be the home of one of the biggest linen factories in the world. The Lagan Canal was a major transport route between Lough Neagh and Belfast. Coal was transported inland, while grain was carried the other way. The lock enables boats to transfer from one water level to another.
