Women's suffrage movements (subtitled)
A review of the women's suffrage movements and their tactics. Even after the reform act of 1867, women could not vote in parliamentary elections. The campaign for women's suffrage went through several stages of militancy, with growing division between those who favoured peaceful methods and those who adopted militant action. After the First World War, women over the age of 30 were granted the vote.
