Why the TA in Hitchin is trying to recruit British South Asians
The government wants the Territorial Army to play a bigger role as the regular army faces cuts in a bid to reduce the deficit.
For the TA in Hitchin they have begun a recruitment campaign to increase volunteers from the South Asian community. D Squadron 254 Medical Regiment is currently 40% undermanned and needs an extra 30 people to join to reach full strength.
