Hertfordshire: Hare Krishna movement marks 40th anniversary

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness has kicked off a year of celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of moving their HQ near to Watford. 50 robed priests and over a 1000 guests attended the grand Adi Vaas Puja at Bhaktivedanta Manor.

It culminated in the Hindu ritual called Yajna, where sanctified offerings of clarified butter were poured into four sacred fires.
It is said that such ceremonies have a balancing and harmonising effect on the world and its inhabitants.

George Harrison donated Bhaktivedanta Manor to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in 1973.
