Heart disease South Asians
A Sikh man from Hitchin says more South Asians need to accept that their diet and lifestyle could be putting them at greater risk of having a heart attack.
Sukhi Rayat suffered one nearly two years ago when he weighed 30 stone after years of eating greasy food, skipping breakfast and doing little exercise.
It is believed factors such as these could help to explain why the South Asian community is nearly twice as likely to develop the condition than the white population.
Since the heart attack in 2011 Sukhi has lost 12 stone, nearly halve his original body weight, and 20 inches off his waist with the help of Martin Penny his personal trainer.
He is now raising awareness about the condition and in this clip he tells presenter Chetan Pathak that his symptoms weren't typical...
