Award winning novelist Qaisra Shiraz

Born in Pakistan, she has lived in Manchester since childhood. She’s a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, as well as a prize-winning and critically acclaimed novelist and scriptwriter.

She was recognised as one of the 100 most influential Pakistani women in the 2012 Pakistan Power 100 List and has been nominated for an Asian Women of Achievement Award and a Muslim News Award for Excellence.

Her novels The Holy Woman and Typhoon have been translated into several languages, and her award-winning drama serial Dil Hee To Hai was broadcast on Pakistani Television in 2003.

Her third novel Revolt is due to be published in October and she is currently working on her fourth The Henna Painter.
