Dad's Army 31 July 1968
The sitcom about a Local Defence Volunteer unit, stationed in Walmington-on-Sea, was written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, inspired by Perry's wartime experience. The title sequence and theme tune, Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr Hitler – composed by Perry and performed by Bud Flanagan - set the tone of the comedy, which was always warm-hearted.
