On the fringe: live at the opening of Edinburgh festival
It began in 1947 when a group of artists turned up uninvited to the Edinburgh International Festival and started hanging out on it's 'fringes'. Today it's one of the world's biggest arts festivals.
Colin Paterson is at the festival for its opening night ahead of its formal launch.
