Nineties British soul singer Omar describes how his lyrics are inspired by the music. A melodic idea arises out of a harmonic vamp. Other instrumental layers are gradually added to bring 'more flavour' to the music. Omar demonstrates how an eight track recorder is used for mixing and arranging a demo version.
