Manchester hopes to find British Asian football talent

The lack of Asian footballers in "the beautiful game" is something that’s often spoken about.

You may recall, Michael Chopra was the first British Indian to play and score in the Premier League. He famously scored what was then the fastest goal by a substitute in Premier League history after just 15 seconds on the pitch. Bradford City's Zesh Rehman is the only British Pakistani to have played in the Premier League, during his days at Fulham.

British Asians make up 4% of the UK's population, yet currently the Premier League doesn’t have a single player with south Asian heritage. Hoping to uncover some British Asian talent, a tournament took place at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium.
