Sikh Soldiers Honoured
The British Army has honoured the historical contribution made by Sikh soldiers fighting for Britain. Thousands of Sikhs fought and died during the First and Second World Wars. Military historians consider the Sikh contribution to be one of distinguished service. The event at Sandhurst Military Academy aims not only to commemorate that sacrifice but also to encourage future generations of British Sikhs to join the army. Poonam Taneja was there.
