Ripper Street's Matthew Macfadyen, says "efforts are being made to breathe life back into it" after the Victorian crime drama was axed by the 蜜芽传媒 after its second series.

The actor, who played Inspector Reid says the 蜜芽传媒 told him "ratings were going down".

The serial was trounced in the ratings by ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here and has been axed "to make room for creative renewal", the 蜜芽传媒 said.
