Groundwater flooding threat and Oxford’s WW1 gas mask

The villages threatened with ground water floods, a new campaign to repair broken electrical items, and we continue our WW1 at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ series with the Oxford gas mask trails.

Phil Gayle and friends bring you Oxfordshire's brightest breakfast show. We investigate how one south Oxfordshire village is now under a flooding threat from a rise in ground water levels, and look at a new campaign to stop throwing away broken electrical items and get them fixed instead. We continue our WW1 at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ series with the story of how the gas mask was invented in Oxford by scientist John Scott Haldane, who experimented on himself and sometimes his family in order to develop a workable gas mask to protect the troops.
